Abstract

The magnetic and high-frequency dielectric properties of a nanocomposite with particles of stuffed titanate pyrochlore Er2TiO5 were studied. Particles up to 60 nm in size are embedded in a matrix of artificial opal with SiO2 spheres 260 nm in diameter. Magnetization curves were measured at temperatures from 2 to 70 K. Temperature dependences of magnetic susceptibility were measured in fields of 1 kOe and 0.1 kOe in the range from 2 to 300 K. The transmission and reflection coefficients for electromagnetic waves with frequencies from 26 to 38 GHz were measured. It was found that the imaginary part of the dielectric constant e² of the composite is small, e²» 0.023.
